The Kootenay Rockies is one of six tourism Regions of Super, Natural British Columbia. Kootenay Rockies Tourism is a Destination Management and Marketing Organization (DMO) which generates incremental tourism revenues for the region by developing, coordinating and delivering collaborative destination marketing programs in partnership with our Tourism Partners and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts.
Geographical boundaries which define the ‘Kootenay Rockies destination’ for which marketing programs are conducted include the southeast corner of British Columbia, an area composed of a series of north/south extending valleys and mountain ranges including the Monashee, Columbia, Selkirk, Purcell and world-renowned Rocky Mountains.
Vacations to the Kootenay Rockies include natural, clean, uncrowded activities and experiences that reflect the lifestyle, the culture and the community of Canada’s West. The Kootenay Rockies is known as British Columbia’s Mountain Playground.
